 Half Marathon, 10k and 5k

Location & Course Changes for 2024

Due to circumstances outside of our control, the FULL Marathon will not be held in 2024. The Half Marathon, 10K Run/Walk, and 5K Run Walk will continue as scheduled. All registered FULL Marathon Runners were sent a Email with options.

For 2024, we have moved the Start/Finish line to the Maui Tropical Plantation and have revised the event course. The Half Marathon will start from the Sugar Mill and finish at the Maui Tropical Plantation. The 10K & 5K races will start and finish at the Maui Tropical Plantation. Updated maps have been uploaded to our website and parking/shuttle information have also been updated. 

Several reasons contributed to our decision, one was traffic congestion going in and out of the west side due to only one route. Residents have reported multiple traffic accidents and continual frustration with the congestion—ongoing housing issues with several thousand displaced residents having difficulty finding accommodations. And the overall sensitivity and mental health of affected Lahaina residents. The Maui Marathon strives to be a positive event within the community, and we are very sensitive to the issues related to wildfires and the Lahaina community and in no way want to add to the frustrations the Lahaina community is currently experiencing. We feel this is the right thing to do and we fully respect and support Lahaina. The theme of the 2024 event is Lahaina Town Memorial Run.

THE SPEEDCUP™

We use a collapsible, reusable cup to replace single-use cups at all aid stations!

In an effort to reduce waste on our island of Maui, the Maui Marathon will be using the HydraPak SpeedCup™ instead of paper/wax cups at all of the aid stations this year.  Together, we can work to prevent single-use cups from filling our landfills or left on roads and trails.

Lahaina Town Memorial Run

The theme of the 2024 event is “Lahaina Town Memorial Run.” Race shirts, bags, speed cups, and all volunteer shirts will all be red. We encourage runners to wear red during this year’s event in honor and support of the Lahaina Community!
